Bristol Green Capital
Helping to create a Low Carbon City with a High Quality of Life for All
Our next Quarterly Partnership meeting is on 19th Oct at 4pm. We are being hosted by Bond Pearce at their offices on 3 Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6DZ (map HERE ). Please note that we are asking people to book to come to this meeting so that we can plan accordingly for numbers. Please book HERE
The main agenda item is to hear from Prof Herbie Giradet, who will have just returned form Adelaide, where 8 years ago he helped set out a vision for a sustainable city. Since then, we are told, they have made huge progress. Come along and hear what he has to say about how far they have got, and how they achieved it. Full AGENDA.
Secondly, we will be opening the process for our new Chair – you can download the job description that Alastair has written HERE.
You may also wish to note that our meeting is being followed by an evening debate at the same venue run by our partners at Low Carbon South West called “Super City or Sustainable City? What is Bristol’s Future?” There will be some food in between for those that are staying on but you must register your interest for the second event as places are limited. See HERE for full details of this part of the evening and to register your interest in attending .
HSBC’s report ‘The Future of Business 2011’, identifies Bristol as a super city of the future. Grant Thornton’s report ‘Sustainable Cities – A vision for the future’ suggests with local backing, Bristol could be a Sustainable City of the future. Is Bristol the new advanced manufacturing super-city or the next sustainable city, both, or should our ambitions lie elsewhere?
Drinks and canapes will be served afterwards.
