If you have some spare time and want to spread the word about how to recycle and why it is so important you may want to volunteer with Resource Futures. They are working with Bristol City Council and May Gurney to inform the residents of Bristol about changes to the waste and recycling services and need help in getting the word out to communities.

For those thinking of taking up volunteering in the coming year (and there are endless opportunities to get involved with all kinds of sustainable and environmental activities and organisations), there is a “Preparing to volunteer” course starting in January.
This course will give people new skills and confidence, preparation for returning to work and an understanding of the wealth of experiences and opportunities that can be gained from volunteering.
The new waste and recycling contract with waste management company May Gurney will help Bristol City reach its three-year goal of sending zero untreated waste to landfill. It will boost the city’s recycling rates and save the council £2.5 million in costs each year. Read more…
Horfield Community Allotment and Edible Forest has been selected by the Green Capital Community Challenge Fund (CCF) to receive an extra £1,000 to help further the work of its project.
The community group was one of eight projects in Bristol who had already received funding from the CCF and were competing for the additional money. Read more…
