Opportunities & Changes at the Bristol Green Capital Partnership

The Bristol Green Capital Partnership Community Interest Company is recruiting a Chief Executive and an Independent Chair as it continues to cement its new structures post 2015 – with less than two weeks left to apply to register interest.

Details of both of these positions can be found on the Partnership website at

The Partnership is currently developing its work programme and structure for the future under the guidance of the new Board. Professor Jim Longhurst, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Environment and Sustainability at University of the West of England and the Partnership’s Interim Chair, emphasises the commitment of the new Board to build upon past successes and relationships and to encourage a vibrant project and communications platform for the city:

“The new structure of the Partnership brings together senior leaders from the anchor institutions in the city, alongside sustainability experts and key individuals from the business sector. This approach is already facilitating the development of joined up strategic thinking and important project activity for the city.”

The Partnership would like to thank outgoing Development Director, Gary Topp, for leading the development of the new structure and providing executive leadership for the Partnership during 2015. Gary is moving on to a new position in Birmingham at the start of April 2016, and is keen to thank all of the colleagues and organisations across the city that have contributed to the development of the next phase.

“Bristol has an extraordinarily talented group of leaders in the green/ sustainability fields and it has been a great pleasure to work with them and help to create the next iteration for the Partnership as it approaches its tenth anniversary in the city. The new structure provides a great platform for joined up working and big thinking at city scale. We are delighted that other cities are looking at its progress to inform their own plans. I know that the amazing things won’t stop here and that Bristol and the Partnership will go from strength to strength in the coming years”.
