Walkable Neighbourhoods in a Healthy City

Healthy City Week 2016 logo FINALOn Saturday 15 October 2016, as part of Healthy City Week, Bristol Walking Alliance hosted a ‘Walkable Neighbourhoods’ event.

Forty individuals from across the city came together to discuss how we can make neighbourhoods in Bristol better for pedestrians. There were representatives from sixteen neighbourhood partnerships, Bristol City Council, equalities groups, and voluntary and community organisations. A range of guest speakers presented current projects happening in the city and explored some of the current barriers for pedestrians along with possible solutions.

A full report of the event is now available online and can be downloaded here.wp_20161015_008

Bristol Walking Alliance is a collaboration of organisations campaigning to improve the pedestrian environment and aims to ensure that the needs of people who walk are represented in negotiations and decisions relating to transport and city design. Visit www.bristolwalkingalliance.org.uk to find out more and get involved.
