Creative Commission Opportunities: Community Climate Action
25th March 2021
Bristol Green Capital Partnership are seeking two artists / creatives, who are passionate about communities, coproduction and climate change, to collaborate on the Community Climate Action Project between May – Oct 2021.
We are looking for two dynamic creatives, with a strong track record of socially-engaged arts practice in collaboration with communities, to coproduce innovative and engaging content which challenges perceptions, amplifies local voices and champions an equitable transition to a zero carbon Bristol through:
1 x visual arts focused commission (eg. film, photography, graphic / illustration)
1 x interactive / performance art focused commission (eg. theatre, interactive game, performative poetry, music)
Through collaboration with the project’s six community project partners we’d like the creative commissions to:
- challenge perceptions on climate action, helping to make it relevant and accessible
- communicate that ‘action on climate’ and ‘improved quality of life’ for communities are interconnected, not exclusive of one another
- help tell real peoples’ stories, highlighting how climate action is important and relevant to the lives of Bristolians
- produce impactful creative outcomes which champion the Community Climate Action project and engage a diverse audience across Bristol and beyond.
Commission fee: £5,000 (per commission x 2). Application deadline: 10am, 20 April 2021
