Director elections – the results are in!

Bristol Green Capital Partnership member organisations this month had the opportunity to vote for two new directors to join the Partnership’s board. This important role will help provide ongoing strategic direction to the Partnership and ensure it can support and enable its members as effectively as possible to create real change for the city.

Following a call-out for nominees from the membership, three people put themselves forward – you can find more information about them here.

In order of total votes received, the results were:

  • Chris Dunford – 49 (92%)
  • Christina Biggs – 37 (70%)
  • Andy Brown – 20 (38%)

Chris Dunford and Christina Biggs will be starting their roles from 1 May, pending formal appointment by the board on 26 April.

On receiving the news, Chis Dunford commented, ‘“I am delighted to have been elected as a Director on the Board of the Bristol Green Capital Partnership and I welcome the responsibility of representing all the members of the Partnership. I look forward to working with the Partnership Team and Board to harness all the incredible expertise and passion of the membership to develop exciting new projects that build upon Bristol’s impressive progress in sustainability whilst working to engage all parts of our community.”

Christina Biggs is thrilled to have been elected. “I have developed a lot of networking and analytical skills in my role with the Friends of Suburban Bristol Railways and am very keen to bring campaign groups together within the new Green Capital Partnership member forum to work effectively on common goals. I consider that the Green Capital Partnership is of a critical mass now to be a powerful force for sustainable living and transport in this beautiful and outward-looking city”.

A huge thank you to all the candidates who took part and all the members organisations that voted.

Note: Lead contacts for each Partnership member organisation were sent a link with which to cast their vote, and each registered contact should have received the voting information. Please let us know if you did not receive this, to ensure our contact information is up to date.
