Going for Gold Business Breakfast: Food Waste
How can you and your business contribute to Bristol becoming a Gold Award Sustainable Food City, bringing positive change to the city, and to your organisation.
Bristol is already a recognised leader in sustainable food and is one of only three Silver Award Sustainable Food Cities in the UK. But much deeper, wider change is needed if we are to reach Gold Award standard and tackle the negative impacts of the current food system on our health, our environment, and the places we live.
Join us for the first in a series of Going for Gold Business Breakfasts, to find out more about the ambition and how your organisation can get involved.
This first event will focus on food waste – a huge challenge and not just a problem faced by food businesses. Currently there is no data for the amount of food waste generated in the workplace, but looking at the amount of food wasted each year across UK homes (7 million tonnes) and in the hospitality, manufacturing, retail and wholesale sectors (3.15 million tonnes) gives us a clue as to the scale of the problem.
Whatever the size or type of organisation you work for, there are ways you can make a difference to the amount of food waste in Bristol, and bring benefits to your organisation at the same time. Join us to find out more!
Breakfast will be provided by Fresh Range and Wogan Coffee, and places are limited so reserve your spot soon.
