Fuelling the energy revolution – £5,000 grant awarded to Bristol Energy Network

Share

We’re pleased to announce the award of a £5,000 grant to Bristol Energy Network for their efforts to make Bristol a sustainable city with a high quality of life for all.

22 organisations have taken part in the Better Bristol 2017 match-funding campaign to raise funds for projects that will tackle environmental challenges at a community level. As part of the campaign, an independent panel of judges has selected a project that demonstrates an exceptional commitment to inclusion and equality in their aims for a special award of £5,000.

We are delighted to announce that this grant will be awarded to Bristol Energy Network for their project ‘Fuelling the energy revolution in Bristol!’

c61af019ff01169a6713c7a3017ff5d00ea51b5fBristol Energy Network has thirty active and committed members working together to transform Bristol into a fairer and greener city, but wants to do even more to help bring about the change we all need. With the £5,000 funding from Bristol Green Capital Partnership, they will run workshops across the city for people on low incomes to advise on reducing energy bills, as well as providing practical resources for home improvements such as draught-proofing kits and sharing information through public engagement activities. The decision to award the grant to Bristol Energy Network was made because the judges felt that they most clearly demonstrated their exceptional commitment to inclusion and equality in their aims. Bristol Energy Network aims to reach more people across the city and work within communities to create a better energy system for everyone – with an aspiration to bring about change in individual lives as well as at a community and political level.

Our panel of judges also commented on the high quality of all the projects taking part in the Better Bristol campaign – recognising the creativity and commitment of organisations who are fundraising to help make Bristol a more sustainable city with a high quality of life for all citizens.
