The Partnership launches Climate Leaders Group
1st November 2020
Bristol Green Capital Partnership is excited to be launching a Climate Leaders Group, for organisations that have committed to be carbon neutral in their own operations by 2030 and have a plan for reducing their emissions.
The purpose of the Climate Leaders Group is to support and showcase organisations that are leading the way in reducing their own carbon emissions, to accelerate Bristol’s progress towards becoming carbon neutral. This will be achieved through sharing experiences and best practice, identifying and implementing carbon neutral solutions, and amplifying the efforts and progress of members to support, motivate and inspire others.
The group is open to Partnership member organisations that have a stated aim to be carbon neutral in their own operations by 2030, that are already measuring their carbon emissions and are willing to report on them. The criteria for membership, reporting requirements and governance details can be found in the Terms of Reference.
Current members include Alec French Architects, Bristol Beacon, Bristol City Council, Burges Salmon, Business West, the Diocese of Bristol, Ecotricity, Jacobs, North Bristol NHS Trust, Pukka Herbs, SS Great Britain, Stride Treglown, University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, UWE Bristol and We The Curious.
The group is chaired by Jessica Ferrow, co-founder of climate impact agency Twelve, and Nina Skubala, Initiative Manager at Business West.
This Climate Leaders Group is part of a wider Climate Action Programme the Partnership will be launching in early 2021, supported by sponsors NatWest and Bristol City Council. The programme will offer a range of activities and resources to support organisations at different stages of their climate action journey to reduce their carbon emissions.
