Volunteer with us!
30th May 2017
An exciting opportunity has come up to volunteer with Bristol Green Capital Partnership as it celebrates its ten-year anniversary.
On the 6 July, we will be marking the occasion with a special gathering to recognise and celebrate the enormous contribution made by the Bristol community to the Partnership over the last ten years, to reinvigorate our vision and share aspirations for the future.
As part of an engagement campaign before, during and after the event, we would like to capture and share Partnership stories from the last ten years to celebrate the role we can all play in building a sustainable Bristol.
We are inviting individuals to volunteer with us to support the celebratory events on 6 July and to work with us over the summer to develop online content for the Bristol Green Capital Partnership website and social media. This could include, but is not limited to:
- Interviews with BGCP members from our unique network of local organisations who are working to make Bristol a more sustainable city with a high quality of life for all
- Creating content from these interviews e.g. blogs, case studies
- Helping to manage activities at our event on 6 July, for example, welcoming delegates, managing stallholders / activity providers, supporting interactive exercises for attendees.
Why take part…
This opportunity would be ideally suited to individuals who have a keen interest in environmental issues, and who would like to gain a unique insight into the local sustainability scene and meet organisations working in this sector. Volunteers would need to have strong and demonstrable written communication skills and a high attention to detail, and have some relevant experience in this area. For example, you may have written for a paper or magazine or are a regular contributor to a blog.
How it would work…
Get in touch via contact@bristolgreencapital.org to register your interest, along with a copy of your CV. We will arrange a phone call to discuss the opportunity and your availability.
This voluntary position can be very flexible with regards to hours to suit your availability, but would require initial planning meetings and a review meeting with our Partnership Development Manager and Operations Manager.
The volunteer position will run from mid-June until mid-July, and the main event which you will be required to attend is on the afternoon of 6 July. We are unable to offer office equipment and space so it would be important that you are able to work independently, but we can reimburse local travel expenses and provide a meeting room for planning and interviews.
