Work with us! Seeking Partnership Liaison Officer to create new opportunities with University of Bristol

We’re working with University of Bristol to recruit a Bristol Green Capital Partnership Liaison Officer – to encourage links and facilitate collaborations to create new opportunities for student and academic engagement interactions between the University and member organisations of the Bristol Green Capital Partnership (BGCP).

Now in its tenth year, BGCP has around 800 member organisations, working towards the shared vision of ‘a sustainable city with a high quality of life for all.’ Having worked together successfully for several years the BGCP and University have co-created this role to accelerate the progress already made in enabling students to contribute to the city through opportunities such as volunteering, internships and engaged learning.

The Liaison Officer will work primarily within the BGCP CIC team (spending approximately 2 days a week at their office in Canningford House, Victoria Street, Bristol) and also with the Public Engagement (PE) team of the University of Bristol (spending approximately 1 day a week in Oldbury House, 121 St Michael’s Hill, Bristol). They will be supported by both teams, line managed by the University’s Public Engagement team, and will have access to staff development training at the University.

This is a challenging and exciting role which requires creativity, personal resilience, and well-developed networking and interpersonal skills. You will have worked either in student engagement within higher education and/or worked in or with Bristol’s environmental sustainability community. The role would suit someone used to both independent working, and contributing to teams both within complex organisations and community groups.

We are looking for someone with both the passion and commitment to develop this pivotal role into one which enables both the University and BGCP to serve their communities and the city for the benefit of all.

The post is offered on a part-time basis for three days per week (with flexibility on the working pattern, subject to occasional evening events) on a fixed-term contract for two years in the first instance.

In submitting an application, you give us consent to share this and your details with the BGCP CIC team for the purposes of recruitment and selection. Applicants might wish to note that there is a significant event on 6 July, BGCP’s 10th anniversary community celebration, which will likely be of interest. However, availability for or attendance at this date will not be considered as part of the selection process. Interviews are scheduled for 28th June (subject to change).

For any enquires please contact Fiona Hyland, Public Engagement, University of Bristol on email:
