Your Green Future in 2015

Business professionals sought to support a unique and innovative event which seeks to develop the next generation of business men and women

Your Green Future is an interactive event, for young people, which investigates the changing face of the economy, from local sustainable business models to cutting edge technologies, which are generating increasing demand for appropriately skilled young people.

The 2015 event is being held at the University of the West of England on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th May 2015.

Across the two day event over 500 secondary school and university students will work alongside 25 businesses in a range of interactive and life like activities, which align with a real business need to develop an understanding of sustainability and to tap into new skills. Overall, the event not only fills the current gap in careers and training support but provides an opportunity for businesses to shape the future work force to best suit their needs.

Get involved

Your organisation can support the event’s dynamic and professionally facilitated workshops by volunteering a member of staff to share their expertise, in one of the following challenges:

• Pitch a sustainable product or process to student ‘Dragons’, who will decide whether to invest in your cutting edge innovation;

• Work with enterprising students to develop and enter products into the Future Food and Fashion Awards;

• Work with teams of students, utilising the skills of your business, to develop a sustainable energy plan for Snowdonia National Park;

• Support students as they develop creative and ambitious ideas for meeting your organisation’s waste reduction targets.

Your organisation can also provide an interactive exhibition exhibit (at no charge), showcasing your company, its products, initiatives and opportunities.

Details can be found on the website:

Your Green Future events are run by Gloucestershire based charity Severn Wye Energy Agency who has a long track record of working with young people in schools, and has delivered Your Green Future events across the South West and Midlands. To deliver the West of England 2015 event Severn Wye are working in partnership with the University of the West of England, South Gloucestershire Council, STEMnet, and Rotary. We are extending this year’s event to include more workshops and businesses – to tie in and celebrate Bristol being the 2015 European Green Capital
